NEA Planning Part 3 - Product Style Profile

I will be undertaking a creative task through which I will be able to make decisions on the styles to be used in my music video. I will be gaining an understanding of how the use of pencil sketches are influential and resourceful in the influence of stylistic decisions through planning, and I will therefore be able to give recognition to the importance of sketches in planning and decision making in the process of creating a music video.

My music video will be a hybrid genre between the main narrative based footage and smaller pieces of performance based footage. I will be showing both artists in the videos as well as including extras to help with the storyline. 

Below is a shot list/ storyboard of potential shots that I am going to include in my video, and the sequence of which they will occur in.



You need to gain feedback from peers about each of your ideas as you produce them and improve these according to relevant feedback.  YOU NEED TO MAKE A RECORD OF THIS FEEDBACK.


TASK 4 - PLANNING PART 2

Individually (but do help each other), produce actual photographic material or video shots you'll potential use in your products.  You may go outside to take these pictures or footage if you think it's relevant to what you're doing.

Put these either in a mood board or a padlet.

Plenary:

Make sure you take photos of all your sketches or other paper work and upload them to your blog - in task 3 and task 4. Then answer the questions below:

  • How useful did you find this step in terms of deciding what style you're going to be pursuing? 
  • How useful was peer feedback to improve your work?

The purpose of this blog is to identify different potential shooting locations for my music video. I will be locating areas that will be suitable for each scene, including addresses and completing a risk assessment on each of the locations. This will help me when it comes to shooting the video itself, as I’ll be able to identify potential hazards while carrying out my video with other people, as well as good spots within that area to physically shoot, in order to get the best shot in as few takes as possible.

What is intertextuality? Intertextuality- A  literary device that creates an 'interrelationship between texts' and generates related understanding in separate works.  These references are made to influence the reader and add layers of depth to a text, based on the readers' prior knowledge and understanding. In this Intertextuality research task, I will be exploring how a wide range of media products in the category of 'Music video' use intertextuality in order to appeal content to a wider range of audiences, as oppose to just one. In addition to this, I will also be highlighting what makes these references to other media texts effective. For reference and purely as an example, here are some examples of intertextuality in Stranger Things: The light shone on 11 which is an almost identical to the take from E.T Where 11 is dressed in Nancy's clothes with a wig, which is what happens to E.T, to make the alien appear more 'normal' or 'human'. 4 Media Theory Research

In this post I am going to be exploring the ways in which a range of media theories are able to be applied to chosen media texts.
